vs 1-6 Death breaks one from the law. The example given here is marriage. So when we received new life it allowed us to bear fruit, and to serve in a new way of the Spirit.
vs 7-12 The law is holy, righteous and good, and apart from law sin is dead.
vs 13 Sin produces death.
vs 14-20 We do not understand what we do at times. "What I want to do I do not do, but what I hate to do." It is a struggle, it becomes the sin living in us. The sinful nature compels us, drives us to this.
vs 21-25 The self is at war with itself. We delight to follow God's law but struggle and wrestle with ourselves. Only God, through Jesus Christ will be able to deliver us in this.
