Day 26

John 11

vs 1-16 Jesus tells the disciples that he must go to Judea because Lazarus has died. The disciples try to talk him out of it because the last time Jesus was there the people tried to stone him.

vs 17-37 Jesus arrives in Judea to find out that Lazarus had been dead for 4 days. Martha blames Jesus for him dying because he was not there. Jesus responds that Lazarus will rise again. It was Jewish custom that in the last day all would  rise again. But Jesus was not referring to that. Jesus was moved by the sadness and tears that he wept himself.

vs 38-44 Jesus tells Lazarus to come out of the tomb, and of course he walks out. Praise God for miracles like this. It strengthens my faith to think about some of the things He has done.

vs 45-57 Many people chose to put there faith in Jesus. But others decided to tell the Pharisees. Caiaphas was the high priest and all the pharisees listened to him. He prophesied that Jesus would have to die, so the whole nation would not perish. So they started to plot how they could take His life.
